It is with much excitement that our family acquired an eighty-acre farm here in Luther, OK. As we graduate our two oldest children this year, we are able to devote the time to sharing our love of growing produce and livestock for local sales. We would like to offer to you the opportunity to support your local agriculture community, while enjoying delicious, naturally-grown vegetables, meats and dairy products.
Many of you who are acquainted with our family know that gardening and livestock have been an integral part of our lives. For years we have consumed the meat, eggs and produce that we have grown. With the acquisition of this farm, we feel the time is right to share our love of naturally-grown produce and meats. As many of you have expressed an interest in purchasing from our family farm, we are offering shares of produce for sale on a weekly basis with the option to purchase egg and meat shares, also.
Community Supported Agriculture ( CSA) offers the goods of local farmers and producers to subscribers on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This is done by subscribers paying a fee, on an average of $25.00/per week, in exchange for produce in season. For 2009 we are offering a limited number of shares at an introductory rate.
We are confident that if you join us in this effort to support local farmers and producers by subscribing to Diamond R Family Farms, you will benefit greatly. You will be able to purchase the best quality produce, meats and eggs available. Simultaneously you will help keep alive a dying part of America's rich heritage, the self-supported FAMILY FARM. You will also join a growing number of consumers who care about he quality of the production of the food they consume.
Please note, all the pictures on our web site have been taken by our family. Included are pictures from the farm we traded for this farm. The barn and out buildings are a part of the last farm.
